Sallis Ranch Large Animal Rescue, Inc. seeks to take in neglected, starved and/or abandoned horses and other large animals. Through proper veterinary care, nutrition and training, we strive to rehabilitate and then place each horse in a new and more suitable home.

Honoring our Director

Like so many non-profits during the pandemic of 2020, the rescue suffered many challenges.  However, none more than the unexpected loss of our Director, Greg Sallis in December 2020.

Greg, one of the founders and director at the rescue, brought over 36 years of knowledge and experience in training, breeding, showing and caring for horses.  His breath of knowledge in grain, hay, hoof care and general veteranarian medical practices allowed for him to easily customize a recovery plan for each horse’s special needs.  The passion and drive to assist in caring for each horse that came to the ranch was unmatched and our rescue will forever be grateful for his commitment to the cause.

Past Rescues

Since 2011, Sallis Ranch Large Animal Rescue has worked with numerous national and local animal rescue organizations as well as connections and partnership with law enforcement.

Nov – 2014

Three horses and two mules – three of the animals were chained in a dog pen with no water, food or hay.
